International Frequency Sensor Association (IFSA) was founded in 1999. In 2000 it was registered by the Union of International Associations (UIA) in Brussels (Belgium). The main aim of IFSA is to provide a forum for academicians, researchers and engineers from industry to present and discuss the latest research results, experiences and future trends in the area of design and application of different smart sensors with digital, frequency (period), time interval or duty-cycle output. Very fast advances in IC technologies brought new challenges in the physical design of integrated sensors and microsensors. This development is essential for developing modern measurement science and technology.
Unfortunately, there was no conference or Internet resource devoted solely to these particular subjects. The scientific and technical problems related to frequency output sensors were presents only on some events devoted to sensors. On the basis of the mentioned above it has been decided to start international cooperation in the frame of IFSA by providing an appropriate infrastructure.
IFSA membership is open to all companies, universities, organizations and individuals world-wide, that are able to contribute expertise in sensor relevant areas. To apply for membership, please complete the on-line form on this Web portal (section MEMBERSHIP) or ASCII text form. Today there are 671 members from 66 countries world-wide (59 % are from industry, 35 % - from universities and 6 % from research institutions).
The International Frequency Sensor Association (IFSA) is an ideal partner for many FP7 programmes due to its outstanding abilities for project results dissemination over the world and transfer research results to industry. Our majority members are from Member States or Associated countries, and our principal objective is to promote scientific and technological cooperation in Europe.
Sensors Web Portal Inc. was registered in 2001 (Canada) in order to host the biggest free access information rich Internet specialized recourse devoted to sensors, transducers and sensor instrumentation. It effectively fills the role of information broker for information seeker in that subject and identifies useful quality, reliable online resources, and is an important gateway for anyone working in sensors related field in which there is a significant mass of online source material. This specialized vertical portal offers you the opportunity to place here information about your products, papers, articles and links. It is a snap-short of what is happening now in the field of sensors. Edited from international printed and electronic media, using research, application, novelty and innovation as key words, we give you the best. We hope that you will find the sensors web portal interesting and that strong links will be established amongst our members involved in sensors R&D and production.
19 November 2002 Sensors Web Portal has been awarded by 2002-2003 Golden Web Award and 1 July 2004 by 2003-2004 Golden Web Award from The International Association of Web Masters and Designers presented to those sites whose web design, originality and content have achieved levels of excellence deserving of recognition.
Today Sensors Web Portal, Inc. is an integrated media corporation serving advanced sensor technology industries worldwide through its magazine, journal, events, e-Newsletter, online media, directories, Internet-based Television Network (IFSA ITN), data products and marketing services.
