Pressure Sensors EC79 Certified for Use on Hydrogen Powered Vehicles

American Sensor Technologies, Inc. has obtained 79/2009/EC approval for two pressure ranges of its AST Model AST2000 and Model AST4000 OEM pressure sensors. The approval is a necessary European Community Directive for components and systems intended for installation on hydrogen-powered vehicles. “This approval allows AST to serve the growing market of hydrogen powered vehicles. We are the only EC79 approved sensor supplier in the world.” - Karmjit Sidhu, Vice President Business Development and AST Co-Founder ...

Triaxial Accelerometers Provide Accurate, Repeatable Measurements in Noisy Industrial Environments

Columbia Research Laboratories, Inc. offers a family of triaxial accelerometers ideal for use in industrial environments. These triaxial accelerometers incorporate miniature shear-type accelerometer inserts bonded into a machined aluminum block as part of the design. The electrical isolation provided by the epoxy bonding permits accurate, repeatable measurements even in noisy industrial environments. Designed to perform simultaneous measurement of vibration acceleration in three mutually perpendicular axes, these small, light weight accelerometers are available in several models ...

VTI Gyro Enables Earth’s Rotation to be Measured

VTI Technologies’ proprietary 3D MEMS (Micro Electro-Mechanical System) technology enables extremely accurate gyroscopes to be designed and manufactured. According to a study carried out by the Department of Computer Systems at Tampere University of Technology, Finland, VTI’s MEMS gyros are so accurate that they can detect and measure the Earth’s rate of rotation. There are different methods to measure the Earth’s rotation, for example for navigation purposes. Until recent advances in MEMS technology, only very high quality – and very expensive – gyros, such as ring laser gyros (RLG), were accurate enough to be used for this application ...

VPFlowMate in-line for Nitrogen and Technical Gases

VPFlowMate in-line series can be used for nitrogen and technical gas consumption monitoring. In many cases, technical gas consumption is only measured at the bottle, using a pressure switch. When the bottle is empty, a new bottle is connected and no one seems to care about the costs involved. VPInstruments now offers a cost effective monitoring solution for Nitrogen, Argon, Helium, C02, Oxygen and Welding gas mixtures.  The VPFlowMate has a large measurement range and on the display you can directly view the actual flow and total consumption. This makes the VPFlowMate ideal for cost allocation of technical gases ...
