High Accuracy Multipole Strip Magnet for Linear Position Measurement

Elk Grove Village, Illinois – Dexter Magnetic Technologies, Inc. has announced a new line of multipole strip magnets for use with the austriamicrosystems line of high resolution linear Hall encoders. The multipole magnet, manufactured from a flexible ferrite, is produced through a repeatable proprietary method which yields accuracy within 2.0 % of the pole pair (40 µm for 1.0 mm pole). The cumulative pole accuracy is within 1.0 % per 10 mm. A major benefit of this new technology is that Dexter is able to offer multiple customer defined strip configurations including industry standard pole spacing of 1.0mm, 1.2 mm or 2.0 mm, custom magnet lengths and pressure sensitive adhesive backing, while retaining the high level of accuracy ...

New Tape Extension Position Sensor Perfectly Suited for Pulley Applications

ASM Sensors has expanded its newest product line of tape extension position sensors, POSITAPE® with the introduction of the WB25 series. The POSITAPE® family was developed for applications that require the use of cable pulleys due space limitations. The measurement ranges of the WB25 series are 12 m, 15 m, 20 m and 25 m all in very compact housings. The highly flexible measurement tape is constructed out of a high-tech stainless steel material that is 10 mm wide with only a 0.08 mm thickness. Due to its very smooth surface, the risk of icing is reduced. An integral tape dust wiper automatically cleans the tape each time that it is being retracted into the housing ...
