New Miniature Silicon MEMS IMU Launched
|
A brand new inertial measurement unit with SPI-bus digital interface has been launched at the Sensor+Test Exhibition in Nuremberg. DMU02 is a high performance 6 degree-of freedom IMU from Silicon Sensing comprising three of its silicon MEMS gyros and a 3-axis accelerometer, integrated in a 1-cubic inch package. Multi-axis inertial sensing can be used in robotics, platform stabilisation and navigation. The DMU02 IMU provides simple mechanical and digital electronic interfaces. This together with the raw performance of the silicon MEMS gyros eliminates the need for external temperature compensation. New Capacitive Sensor Technology Allows for Continuous and Contact-Free Level Measurement
|
Sensortechnics’ CLC series uses a new contact-free capacitive sensor technology to continuously measure the fill level of liquids as well as granular or pulverized materials. The miniature sensor can be easily mounted to the outside of a container or vessel and is able to measure through almost any non-metallic wall material. The level sensing range of the standard device is up to 10 cm which can be enlarged in special multi-sensor configurations. The non-invasive design, with no contact between the sensor and the fluid, eliminates all media compatibility and sterility issues. The device is highly flexible and the user can easily calibrate the sensor to measure to the desired levels, media and application set-up. The CLC series achieves a very high accuracy and reliability due to an additional reference electrode which compensates for all changes in ambient environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity. As an optional safety feature the sensor can be supplied with an extra sensing pad to detect if a container is actually present or not. ZMD31210 cLite Capacitive Sensor Signal Conditioning IC
|
May 26, 2009 - ZMD AG has expanded its family of capacitive sensor signal conditioning devices with the wide-dynamic-range ZMD31210 cLite IC. New design technology delivers 14-bit resolution and 0.5% accuracy over a wide range of capacitance and temperature. Capacitive sensors offer several benefits, including very low power operation, and the ZMD31210 supports this with a low 60 uA current draw over a supply voltage range as low as 1.8V or as high as 5.5V. The ZMD31210 can be configured to interface with capacitive sensors from 2 to 260 pF with sensitivity as low as 125 atto-Farads (aF) per digital bit. The part accommodates both single and differential input sensor configurations. Sensors Expo & Conference, Chicago, Ill, June 8, 2009– Microbridge Technologies, Inc., the leader in passive, analog precision calibration products (Rejustors), has announced a family of Nano-Air-Flow Differential Pressure Sensors targeted at medical respiratory and industrial HVAC applications. Microbridge is demonstrating the capabilities of these sensors at The Sensors Expo, June 8 – 10. The new devices incorporate a thermal anemometer element and CMOS Analog conditioning circuitry with a micro-flow channel having very high flow-impedance that allows accurate sensing of low differential pressures over a wide dynamic range.
