Abstract: Accurate and effective Voice Activity Detection (VAD) is a fundamental step for robust speech and speaker recognition. In this study, we propose a robust VAD algorithm based on Modified Wiener Filtering and Harmonic Structure Information. Effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is evaluated by using some well-known databases. Experimental results show that the proposed method performs well under a variety of noisy conditions.
