Testability Analysis of Inertial Measure Unit Based on Multi-signal Model

Abstract: Inertial measure unit (IMU) which provides the information about speeds and positions for computer, is one of the most important components of aircraft control system. However, it is also very easy to go wrong. For the sake of locating and isolating the fault sources, the multi-signal model of IMU is built based on TEAMS, and its testability is analyzed and evaluated. Further, in order to eliminate the disadvantages of inherent testability, the measures based on adding test points and cutting off feedback paths are proposed. At last, the inherent test and the proposed test are simulated by TEAMS. Simulation results show that the testability of improved test enhanced markedly, the Percentage Fault Isolation is increased from 39.32 % to 48.72 %, and the ambiguity group size decreased from 16.47 to 2.3. The results also validate that the analytical method of testability based on multi-signal model is effective to improve the maintainability of equipments.
