New IMPACT Series Fluid-Free Pressure Transmitters
Telford UK – January 2008: Gefran’s new IMPACT series fluid-free pressure transmitters are designed for use in high temperature environments of up to 350°C for applications such as melt pressure feedback on plastic extruders used in food and medical industries. With no mercury or oil filling, the RohS compliant range uses latest MEMS technology to produce a silicon on insulator (SOI) sensing element that allows a process contact membrane of up to 15 times the thickness of traditional melt pressure sensors.
With a choice of six pressure ranges from 0-100 to 0-1000 bar, accuracy to 0.25% FSO and an autozero function, the highly robust IMPACT design offers high stability, high strength and a long working life.
The IMPACT series features a separate signal conditioning unit and a 15-5 PH stainless steel isolation diaphragm with a GTP coating for optimum corrosion, abrasion and temperature resistance. A choice of both rigid and flexible stem lengths ensures straightforward installation.
