Digital Load/Force Sensors with USB Output

Loadstar Sensors, Inc. of Mountain View, CA announces the immediate availability of iLoad Pro Series digital load/force sensors. The iLoad PRO Series is available in capacities ranging from 10 Lbs to 25,000 lbs to measure compressive and tensile loads at accuracies up to 0.05% of full scale.

Continuing on the success of our award winning iLoadTM Series sensors, these iLoad Pro sensors offer, unprecedented ease of use with Digital USB or Analog 0-5V DC output without the need for additional signal conditioning. The iLoad Pro Series sensors are designed for use in heavy duty or industrial environments and have a rugged female threaded mounting structure for easy attachment and improved cable strain relief.

The iLoad and iLoad Pro series load sensors are based on our patented capacitive Plug and SenseTM technology. These sensors combine the core sensing functionality with integrated computing and communication modules to offer unprecedented simplicity and ease of use in a rugged, low profile package.

The iLoad PRO Digital USB sensors are designed to plug directly into the USB port of a PC and enable users to measure loads, forces or weights without need for any additional signal conditioning, data acquisition system or special software! The sensor appears as a virtual COM port on a PC enabling a user to directly read data using simple ASCII commands with any terminal emulator such as HyperTerminal. Users can also easily write their own Windows applications with the open command set that comes standard with all digital load sensors.

In order to make this process even simpler, Loadstar offers LoadVUETM software that takes care of all communication functions and displays loads in lbs, Kgs or Newtons. A user can get calibrated load information without any additional computation, conversion or calibration! The software also allows users to log data and edit it using programs such as Microsoft Excel.

“We are delighted to introduce the iLoad Pro load sensors – in response to requests from customers who wanted the convenience of Plug and SenseTM technology but wanted higher capacities, better mounting features and more ruggedized cabling options” said Div Harish, the Co-Founder and CEO of Loadstar Sensors. “We will continue to pay close attention to customer feedback to make our innovative products the best load sensors in the market.” added Harish.

For users who need an analog output, we offer the iLoad PRO Analog sensor which is built on the same digital platform as the digital USB version but is designed to interface directly to a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) or Data Acquisition system (DAQ).

Digital Load/Force Sensors

The iLoad PRO Analog sensor offers a linear, 0.5-4.5V DC output proportional to applied loads. No expensive amplification or signal conditioning is required because all electronics are built into the self-contained integrated sensor. Furthermore, temperature compensation schemes are built-in for temperatures ranging between -100C to +400C in order to be accurate in most operating conditions with a “tare”.

Key features of the iLoad Pro Series include:

  • Flexible output options-either Digital USB or Analog 0-5V DC

  • Integrated signal conditioning

  • Accuracies to 0.05% of full scale loads

  • Tensile and compressive measurements

  • Rugged low profile, stainless steel (17-4 PH) package

  • Easy mounting with threaded holes or studs

  • Attractively priced in either single piece or OEM quantities
