3 Axis Acceleration Sensor with USB

The new JoyWarrior24F14 by Code Mercenaries sets a new price/performance benchmark for USB based acceleration sensors. At just Euro 19 per unit (at 100) JW24F14-MOD offers resolutions down to 125 μg.

JoyWarrior24F14 modules are based on a MEMS sensor and measure with 14 bit resolution in the ranges ±1 g, ±1.5 g, ±2 g, ±3 g, ±4 g, ±8 g, or ±16 g, delivering 125 results per second.

Connection via USB allows easy use with any computer model. Since JoyWarrior24F14 identifies and works as a joystick accessing the data can be easily done via the operating systems joystick API without installing any specific drivers. In addition this allows to use the JoyWarrior24F14 in joystick applications.

Software for MacOS X and Windows contains a configuration tool to set the sensor parameters, a tilt angle measuring sample program, a calibration tool, and a simple data recorder.

Small size (30 x 33 x 5 mm) and a low mass (< 5 g) allow installation of the sensor in many situations.

The modules are fit for acceleration, tilt, and low frequency vibration sensing, as well as for human input applications.

JW24F14-MOD is supported as the standard sensor by the Quake Catcher Network of the University of California (http://qcn.stanford.edu). The project allows computer users to participate in a network that measures seismic events. A kit containing a JW24F14-MOD, USB cable, and enclosure is available at Euro 45 excl. tax. Modules and kits are available immediately.
