32-Channel Multifunction Module Isolated and USB Powered

When system integrators or OEMs need a flexible data acquisition solution with multiple analog inputs for embedding in custom applications, Data Translation is the first place to look. A leading manufacturer of data acquisition systems, Data Translation has recently released a multifunction module with 32 analog inputs and a USB 2.0 interface. The board takes up minimum space and is USB powered so that no external power supply is needed. Many drivers and software interfaces are included with the unit to allow fast and easy integration.

The DT-9818-32-OEM features 32 analog inputs (16-bit), two hardware-synchronized analog outputs with 16-bit resolution, 16 digital I/O lines, and two 32-bit counter/timers. All I/O subsystems can be operated simultaneously at sampling rates of up to 150 kHz. Besides software-programmable gains (x1, x2, x4, x8) for the analog inputs, the module provides flexible clocking and trigger modes.

The board's input and output signals are isolated to protect the host computer and maintain a high signal accuracy and integrity, even in harsh industrial environments. OEMs can choose between different connection panels and/or plug their own boards directly into the data acquisition module for custom signal conditioning. The DT-9818-32-OEM is also available in boxed versions comprising a robust, aluminium housing with either screw terminals or BNC connectors.

The module ships with an extensive software package, including drivers for .NET, Visual Basic, Visual C#, Visual C++ or Visual J#. An ActiveX component, “virtual instruments” for LabView, DT-Open Layers drivers, and an evaluation version of the DT Measure Foundry test and measurement application software are also provided. The software package is complemented and completed by a ready-to-measure application.
