Three-Component Force Sensors

 

 

Depew, NY -The Force/Torque Division of PCB Piezotronics, Inc., offers ICP and charge output Three-Component Force Sensors capable of simultaneously measuring dynamic or quasi-static forces in three orthogonal directions (X, Y, and Z), and delivering an independent measurement signal for each direction. Three-Component Force Sensors are ideal for a variety of applications, including cutting tool force monitoring, product quality assurance monitoring, modal analysis, engine mount analysis, biomechanics, and impact testing.

 

Sensors are structured with a quartz sensing element for long-term stability, small size, high stiffness, and a wide dynamic range of 1,000 to 10,000 Ib (4.45 to 44.45 kN) in the z-axis and 500 to 4,000 Ib (2.22 to 17.79 kN) in the x and y axes. ICP versions utilize built-in 'microelectronics to convert the high impedance charge to a low impedance voltage; charge output versions operate with in-line charge converters or laboratory style charge amplifiers.
