The Fluke Networks NetTool can be used by anyone. A few button pushes and you can see the problem or test connectivity. This saves calling out the big guns to run down a disabled or unwired port. You can also use it to estimate the distance to a fault, although I have never had to. Cable testing, response times, statistics and PC configurations can be done as well. You can even save error screens to your PC. All these do such testers also very suitable and useful for smart sensor networks. The price is cheap compare to other tools and can be easily carried and secured. Register it and get a free customized carry case.
