Abstract: Single-mode D-type optical fiber sensor based on the attenuated total reflection (ATR) effect in spectra method at a specific incident angle of 890 is presented. It is coated with an Au-film layer with a thickness of 30~50 nm to detect the refractive variation of a liquid by measuring the output spectrum. Calculate the reflectance ratio of the specimen to water could look out for the specific wavelength for the refractive index. The proposed method is used to enhance the measurement sensitivity and achieve the resolution better than 1.510-5 (RIU).
