New Gravity-Referenced Dual Axis Inclinometers for Challenging Applications in Space Restricted Areas

Wyckoff, NJ - Sherborne Sensors, announces the T820 series, a new range of high precision, gravity referenced dual axis inclinometers for measurements in space constrained environments where form factor limitations drive sensor selection. Available in ranges from 14.5 to 60, the cylindrical inclinometers measure just 23 mm (0.91 inches) in diameter and 161m m (6.34 inches) in length, representing Sherborne 's smallest diameter inclinometers with resolution capabilities to 1 arc second (1/3600 of a degree).

The T820 Series options include the T823 with an environmentally sealed connector and cable system or theT825 with solder pin terminations. They can operate from a bi-polar input voltage range of 12 to 18 Vdc or single ended voltage range of 9 to 18 Vdc. A high level output of 5Vdc is achieved for the bi-polar supplied unit and 0.5 to 4.5 V  dc for the single ended version. Mechanical shock survivability is in excess of 1000 g.

The T820 Series are fabricated from stainless steel to prevent corrosion and to reduce angular errors that can be caused by the mechanical flexibility found in sensors constructed from aluminium alloy. They also have an innovative precision angular alignment capability for increased installed resolution. The inclinometers continue to deliver maximum performance in temperatures ranging from zero to 158 degrees Fahrenheit and will survive temperatures down to minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

'An ideal application for the T820 Series would be borehole logging but there is a growing need for ever smaller and more capable sensors that can operate in hostile environments across many industries we serve',explains Jesse Bonfeld, VP Business Development, Sherborne Sensors. 'The T820 series is designed to deliver exceptional long term performance across a wide variety of applications while operating in the smallest of areas.'

Sherborne Sensors can customize inclinometer designs and performance features to conform to specific customer requirements. All Sherborne Sensors products are thoroughly tested and calibrated to international standards at the factory prior to shipment, and are accompanied by an industry exclusive two year comprehensive warranty and our Guaranteed On Time Delivery programme.
