Part 11. Digital Sensors and Smart Sensors System Design

Abstract. Beginning from possible technologies and design methodology this course's part describes practical realizations of different smart sensors systems and digital sensors. The following sensors systems discussed: optical sensors systems with color-to-digital and light-to-digital converters; a DAQ system for temperature sensors; accelerometers based systems; rotation speed digital sensors and systems; digital humidity sensors and data loggers; temperature and humidity multisensors system; pressure sensors systems and digital gauges; digital magnetic sensors and systems; multiparameters sensors systems. It is shown that design approach based on advanced frequency-to-digital conversion methods and integrated frequency-to-digital converters lets significantly simplify the design process, reduce time to market and production price.
