Anashin V. S. Sensors for on-board dose metering systems

The paper discusses the development problems of a cumulative dose sensor (CDS) which is a key element of the on-board segment of monitoring systems for space ionizing radiation. It justifies the choice of sensing element based on MIS dosimetry operation principle. Engineering requirements to on-board dose metering devices and to CDS design concepts and structure development are formulated. Priority areas in the field of on-board dose metering are specified.

Static characteristics of MIS H2S sensors for 2…7 ppm range are examined. The paper shows that the sensors with Pd-SiO2-Si and Pd-Si3N4-Si structures provide sufficient resolution per H2S concentration and acceptable life time. It concludes about the possibility of applying such devices as sensing elements of gas analyzers for H2S content monitoring in working spaces against MPC.
